We’ve been an approved vendor for CenterPoint Energy, specializing in manufacturing high-quality 600 amp to 2400 amp cable tap boxes. Specifically designed for multi-family housing, our tap box meets and exceeds all CNP standards, making it an ideal solution for apartments, townhomes, and condominiums.

Crafted from durable 14GA mild steel with a powder-coated finish, our tap box ensures both quality and longevity. Inside, you’ll find a robust 3/8″x6″ tin-plated aluminum bus bar securely mounted to ½” CE canvas phenolic using premium stainless-steel fasteners. The tin-plated bus bar boasts 11 mounting holes for lugs on the contractor’s side, as well as the 6 holes required for CenterPoint’s side.

For added convenience and versatility, our tap box includes a standard ½”-13 stainless grounding nut welded on the inside, along with a custom crease top for enhanced rigidity and efficient drainage.

Fabricated & Powder Coated

Our custom cable tap boxes can be custom designed according to your specifications. We can fabricate your custom cable tap boxes from aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel. Carbon steel cable tap boxes can be powder coated or hot dip galvanized. Your custom cable tap boxes can also be designed and built with a canopy or roof to protect equipment from severe weather and/or provide shade from the sun in order to protect your equipment and controls.

Color Options

Custom cable tap boxes are not always the standard gray color. They can be green, black or any other color you would like us to powder coat it with. If you have the need for a custom NEMA enclosure with a specific size and color choice to match a current configuration we can work with you to fabricate the perfect fit for your system with the color of your choice. We use different color fan decks like the color fan deck RAL K5 containing all 213 RAL CLASSIC colours.

Enclosure Fabrication uses heat fused PE series modified powder paint, electrostatically applied on a pretreated base. In this process, the paint particles are charged with static electricity and are sprayed on the enclosures which are grounded, this causes the particles to adhere evenly to the surface of the enclosure, eliminating the possibility of having paint runs. Curing temperature and time is approximately 200°C for 20 minutes.
